Game viewing in Khwai, Botswana. In 2016, we spent a month in Botswana photographing wildlife in Moremi, Central Kalahari, and Khwai. This photo, which was taken in October, shows Sheri watching a bull elephant in Khwai. Khwai is an exceptional place. Perhaps our favorite spot for leopards in Southern Africa and an area in which we've had good luck viewing wild dogs as well. This bull was one of four elephants that spent two days with us at our camp on the Khwai River. Completely relaxed, these elephants made themselves at home and on several occasions came within a few feet of us.
